THE DSP MEMBERSHIP TIMELINE

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional business fraternity with a comprehensive recruitment process designed to help prospective members learn more about our chapter and determine if DSP is the right fit for them. Here’s an overview of the recruitment journey, from Recruitment Week to becoming a brother.

1. Recruitment

Held once each semester, Recruitment Week provides prospective members with the opportunity to learn more about Delta Sigma Pi and connect with our brotherhood. Throughout the week, Potential New Members (PNMs) can meet current brothers, explore our professional and community-focused initiatives, and build meaningful connections through a variety of events, including community service projects, networking opportunities, and social activities.

Recruitment Week events are held Monday through Thursday, followed by an invite-only event on Friday. We encourage interested students to block off their week, get involved, and experience all that Delta Sigma Pi has to offer!

Following Recruitment Week, students who receive and accept a bid begin Delta Sigma Pi’s pledge education program. Throughout the process, pledges deepen their understanding of the fraternity while building meaningful relationships with their pledge class and the chapter. The program provides opportunities for professional development, community service, brotherhood, and mentorship, helping pledges develop the skills, connections, and knowledge that will prepare them for membership in Delta Sigma Pi.

3. Initiation

Initiation marks the successful completion of the pledge education program and the beginning of full membership in Delta Sigma Pi. Upon initiation, new brothers become part of a lifelong network committed to professional growth, community service, scholarship, and brotherhood. Membership provides opportunities to build lasting relationships, develop professionally, and remain connected to Delta Sigma Pi throughout college and beyond.

Q: What are the requirements for membership?

A: To be eligible for membership, students must be enrolled in the W. P. Carey School of Business, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, have at least two full semesters remaining before graduation, and be in good standing with Arizona State University.

Q: What makes DSP Different from a Greek Organization? Can I be in DSP and a Greek Org at the same time?

A: Yes! Students can be members of both a Greek organization and Delta Sigma Pi, and many of our brothers are involved in both. Unlike traditional Greek organizations, Delta Sigma Pi is a professional, co-ed fraternity with a strong connection to the W. P. Carey School of Business and a focus on professional development, networking, community service, and brotherhood.

A: During recruitment, focus on having genuine conversations and being yourself. Be honest about your experiences and interests rather than trying to present yourself as the “perfect” candidate. We encourage PNMs to attend as many events as possible to get to know our brothers and experience different aspects of Delta Sigma Pi. Be sure to complete and submit your online application before the deadline. Applications are sent out at the beginning of Recruitment Week and are due following the final event before Invite Only.

Q: What Philanthropies does DSP Work With?

A: Delta Sigma Pi is committed to giving back to the local community through service and philanthropy. Our community partner is Ronald McDonald House Charities, and we regularly volunteer with organizations such as the Aris Foundation, Pitchfork Pantry, Keep Tempe Beautiful, and Feed My Starving Children. Throughout the semester, our brothers participate in a variety of service opportunities that allow us to make a meaningful impact in the greater Phoenix community.
